A woman peadophile who actually had sex with a ten year old boy wasn't even sent to jail. I read about it in the paper the other day, it was buried on page twenty-something. Considering there was a page 1 story about Madonna falling off a horse, you'd think there was enough space to make this a top story. It was a top story. The total injustice involved is staggering. What happened to the good old days when we'd burn people at the stake for staring at a child for more than a quarter of a micro-second? Ah but we still do. Just not anyone larger than a B-cup.
My Oz-Uni-Fest-Search 05/06 has kind of lost momentum. I've got all the information I need and my favourite university so far is University of Sydney. I suppose I should just apply and see if I get rejected or not. If I get accepted I'll still have the option of not going if it turns out, as I fear it will, that I won't be able to afford it. Hmm, I may need a job. Or possibly just to win a scratchcard. If I bought 100 scratchcards what would be the odds of me winning £10,000?
The new series of Brainiac: Science Abuse started tonight, for those in England with access to Sky. It's on Sky 1 at 8pm every thursday. Tonight they tested, among other things; whether thermite would go through a propane gas tank and if you could open an umbrella underwater. They launched a firework at a bomb-laden car and played a game of golf where, when the ball went down the hole, a fuse would be lite that would blow up a caravan. I love that show. It's hosted by Richard Hammond too, who also does Top Gear.
I had to admit that I typed the word 'paedophile' into Google because I couldn't remember how to spell it. I do hope an armed SWAT armada doesn't come bursting through my door, I'm only wearing my pyjamas.
I started watching the end of SG-1 season 8 today, because I kinda want to know what happened to make season 9 so different. I've seen up to Reckoning Part 2 and I have one comment thus far. It's cut because some SG-1 fans (Russell) might not have seen it yet.
I watched Daniel Jackon's death episode in season 5, although I admit barely because my interest in the show at that point was based on the fact that I had to get to the end of the season, simply because I had already watched the other twenty episodes. Am I the only one who thinks that his 'death' in Reckoning Part 2 was much, much better? He tried, he failed, he got killed. No heroism, no long goodbyes, no saving the entire universe just...getting stabbed and dying alone...Much better than if he had single-handedly wiped out all the replicators with his second to last breath, then said a ten-minute goodbye to SG-1 with his last (very deep) breath. Of course, I know he comes back (again) so my opinion will probably have changed after I watch Threads tomorrow.
I hope I got the code for ending that LJ Cut right, or I am going to look quite the fool.
Just one more thing, why the hell is everyone I come across on Halo 2 (online) a complete dick? Well, not everyone, just the Americans. And why do they insist on calling me a 'tea-bagger', a fag and/or Irish? Every American I've ever come across has thought that me, Russell, Matty and Scot were Irish, French, Australian, AMERICAN, Greek and Vietnamese. I find it hilarious that they can't tell when someone isn't from their own country. I should point out that the Vietnamese thing was self-inflicted. One bunch had just called us all French (a very grave insult indeed) so Matty put on an obviously fake Vietnam accent and started telling them that "I come from Vietnam, I come to kill you all" and suchlike. Ah, the good ol' days...

As for the uni stuff, check out that studyinaustralia link I gave you (the government one). There should be links to a bunch of stuff about scholarships. Same with the University of Sydney website. They're usually really desperate to get foreign students so apply for everything and see what you get. Creates more chances for you and you don't have to say yes.
